Communicating ideas in interesting and entertaining ways requires diverse skills, some in particular: insight, research, planning, and intention. Collaboration is key because all the contributors have their own valuable input, photographers, directors, art directors, producers, and craftspeople make your project whole through the sum of their parts. I’ve enjoyed playing many of those parts as an actor, vocalist, producer, and makeup artist. I’ve also contributed to the writing and/or editing of the script, set decoration, pre-production, talent coaching, image consulting, time management, lighting, budgeting… and chicken wrangling. Seriously!
A systems thinker, integrating what I’ve learned through my independent studies and diverse clientele across industries: communications, medicine, politics, entertainment, and education have provided a unique perspective on how they intersect. At Human Engineering Research Laboratories, I learned that my top aptitude is Memory for Design and Visual Perception. Other aptitudes I embody are musical, logical-mathematical (number/reasoning), existential, intrapersonal, and spacial thinking. I never imagined the doors that these skills and aptitudes would open in the creative arts’ industry (that was then in its infancy). Video production.
The experiences I’ve gained over the years from being a model and actor to makeup artist, producer and vocalist helps me support talent, crew, and creatives. Each role has provided me with deep personal insights to what is required of each member of the production team. Noting distinctions in each person, I can embrace multiple perspectives that bring people together to form valuable relationships with Interpersonal Intelligence and effective verbal and nonverbal communications. I advocate for everyone while establishing a protected space for the talent to focus on what they need to do as the key communicator. I focus on how we can leverage strengths and resources to save time, expense and be more efficient. Essentially, I help lead creatives through the various tiers and steps necessary to producing a stellar piece of film, music, art, or experience.

Whether I’m the lead vocalist or providing back up vocals to add color and dimension to another artist’s project, it’s all music to me, and I love it. I hope you do, too! My styles are variable from Americana, Folk to Pop, Rock, Funk and R&B. So let’s make some music together!
Artists/sounds/styles to compare to: Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Eva Cassidy, Linda Ronstadt, Alison Krauss, Karen Carpenter
My husband, Mike Fox, is an incredible music producer, singer/songwriter and inventor. When his creative endeavors shifted away from music at the time, I began producing jingles for advertising clients, putting together my intuitive best team for the production which in turn inspired my own collaborations as an artist.
VOICE ACTOR – A warm, friendly, expressive and trustworthy young professional voice for promos, narration, commercials, eLearning or audiobooks, We have a professional in-home studio and recording engineer to provide quick turn arounds with reasonable rates and no agency fees.
Carry Me Lyrics
Carry me, Carry me
Carry me all the way home
Carry me, Carry me
Carry me all the way home
Freely given now
It’s not a heavy load
I see your gift to me
Your willingness of soul
We walk together
As I reach for you to hold
But sometimes it’s hard
Sometimes it breaks your heart
So Carry me, Carry me
Carry me all the way home
Carry me, Carry me
Carry me all the way home
Do we really know
How much we have to give
How far to carry
How long we have to live
Love will follow you
Across the rainbow bridge
Sometimes it’s hard
Sometimes it’s hard
Sometimes it’s hard
Carry me,
Carry me the distance
Carry me,
With arms that won’t let go
Carry me, Carry me the distance.
All the way home
All the way home
Will you carry me?
Will you carry me?
Please carry me.
2. Carolina
Written by Peter Holmes and Jean Fox
This was my first attempt at songwriting, in collaboration with my long-time friend and colleague, Peter Holmes. I had in mind how much it felt like home when I visited the land of my ancestors in North Carolina, though I grew up on the other side of the country. I recalled some of the particular memories I had when I visited my grandparents as a child. Not knowing at the time that the first official town in North Carolina was their namesake or that my family history went back 400 years as some of the first colonists. Peter’s musicianship brought the lyrics to life for me and I was thrilled with the outcome.
Carolina Lyrics
Carolina, think it’s time I come back home
You wrote yesterday
Bout all the folks who’ve gone away
Close my eyes and I’m still there
The mill by the farm
Dad’s old truck broken down by the barn
Rustin’ like a heart that lost at love
Oh, I wish I was there
Please tell me nothing has changed
Cause I need to believe that some things stay just the same
Carolina It’s been too long.
Carolina,
Yeah, I wish I was home
in Carolina.
Think it’s time I come back home.
I dream about you
Shining in fields of cotton,
And dusty roads laid soft
by a summer rain
That sweet southern moon
Baby I’m hoping to come home soon
To lie ‘neath the sky next to you.
Lord, I wish I was there
Please tell me nothing has changed
Cause I need to believe that
Some things stay just the same.
Carolina. It’s been too long.
Carolina. You know I’m lost,
I’m alone.
Carolina.
Think it’s time I come back home.
Well I wish I was there please tell me that nothing has changed
Cause I need to believe that somethings stay just the same.
Carolina.
Oh it’s been too long
Carolina,
You know I’m lost and alone.
Carolina.
Oh it’s time I come back home.
I’m coming home to you.
Leave a light on for me
Yeah, I’m coming home.
3. Jingle Demo
Working in the studio to advertise a product requires an awareness of certain notes and interpretation of the intention of the project. Most of these demos are jingles written and produced by my talented husband, Mike Fox, in our home recording studio. Lucky me to be the benefactor of his tenured skills as a producer and musician, singer/songwriter. It’s always a joy to hear what is revealed in the end.
4. Room with a Radio
Lead vocals: Jean Fox
Background vocals: Jean Fox, Dylan Fox and Derek Ocenosak
Room With a Radio was written, performed, engineered and produced by Mike Fox, commissioned by non-profit, Pacific Rim Early Learning, to teach kids to read.
Mike told me I was gonna have to rap like Blondie. I wasn’t sure how that was going to work out but it’s turned out to be one of my all-time favs.
Room with a Radio Lyrics
A room to read
A room to rest
A room with a radio
Is the best
A room to read
A room to rest
A room with a radio
Is the best
A room to read
A room to rest
A room with a radio
Is the best
A room to read
A room to rest
A room with a radio
Is the best
A room to read
A room to rest
A room with a radio is the best
A room to (read)
A room to (rest)
A room with a radio is…
The best
A room to (read!)
A room to (rest!)
A room with a radio is…
(The best!)
A room to read
A room to rest
A room with a radio
Is the best, the best
It’s my room
So come on, come on
To my room
5. Without Words
Co-written by Peter Holmes and Jean Fox
Without Words Lyrics
You don’t need to share your heart
It wouldn’t matter anyway
You don’t have to let it show
Cause baby, I know
You don’t have to hide behind those words
Or tell me what the weather may bring
I’ll know it when it rains
‘cause baby, I know
Baby, I know.
And I’ll think of you at Christmas when it rains
With words I couldn’t say
And I’ll remember how warm it felt beside you
Even though I couldn’t stay
You don’t need to say a single word
To explain your warm embrace
Or the smile on your face
’cause baby I know.
Baby I know
And I’ll think of you at Christmas when it rains
With words I couldn’t say
And I’ll remember how warm it felt beside you
Even though I couldn’t stay
Somewhere down the road
When a little time has passed
I might bring myself to ask, without a word
And if I find the courage to look into your eyes
See the light and just know why
Without a word.
You can hide how long it’s been
Or bury the truth in time
You can hide the light in your eyes
But baby, I know
Baby I know
Baby I, Baby I, Baby I
Baby, I know.
6. Beautiful Disaster
“Beautiful Disaster” is a song recorded by American recording artist Kelly Clarkson on her debut studio album Thankful (2003). Matthew Wilder produced the track, and wrote it along with Rebekah Jordan. “Beautiful Disaster” reflects a woman’s prayer about a man whom she loves despite his iniquities. – Wikipedia
I wanted to see how I could do in comparison to Kelly Clarksons vocal prowess, so Mike created the tracks for me and produced the recording. A worthy endeavor.
7. Catch the Wind
Catch the Wind was released by Scottish singer-songwriter, Donovan, in 1965. It reached No. 4 in the United Kingdom singles chart, and No. 23 in the United States Billboard Hot 100.
I’d long been a fan of the song and enjoy the spare simplicity of the production which was done in one take, simply vocals and acoustic guitar, at Janae Nobles home studio.
8. Something in the Air
Something in the Air was recorded by Thunderclap Newman. In 1969, Pete Townshend, The Who‘s guitarist, was the catalyst behind the formation of the band. It was written by Speedy Keen who also sang the song and was a No. 1 single for three weeks in the UK Singles Chart in July 1969.
Janae Noble and I were covering it and liked our remix which is quite different in production than the original. She was working in a recording studio with drummer, Dave Losko, and we recorded it for my birthday. I’ve always thought it could serve as a “call to action” anthem during these trying times.
Something in the Air Lyrics
Call out the instigator
Because there’s something in the air
We’ve got to get together
Sooner or later
Because the revolution’s here
And you know it’s right
And you know that it’s right
We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now
Run through the fields and houses
Because there’s something in the air
We’ve got to get together
Sooner or later
Because the revolutions here
And you know it’s right
Yeah, you know that it’s right
Yeah
We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together
Now

9. Make the World Go Away
This country song was written by Peter Holmes, lead vocals by Jean Fox.
Music, lyrics: Peter Holmes
Vocalist: Jean Fox
Grant Reeves, Engineer
If I could turn my dream into a movie
It would start just where the lovers, find themselves alone
I’d freeze the world around them, just like an old photograph
And the lover’s roles I’d cast, as you and I
If I could play my dream on the silver screen
Baby you’d be the brightest star I’d ever seen
If we could have one scene alone, for just one day
We could make the world go away
Make the world go away
Lose the bills, the phones, and all the deadlines
No traffic, nosy neighbors, bosses or long lines
We’d dance alone in Paris, take a moonlight drive
A private paradise, made for two.
If I could play my dream on the silver screen
Baby you’d be the brightest star they’ve ever seen
If we could do this scene alone, for just one day
We could make the world go away
Make the world go away
Make the world go away
We could make the world go away
Moonlight, starlight, cue the stars and shine the light
We only get one chance to get it right
Starlight, star bright, I wish I may, I wish I might
Be a star with you.
I could look into your eyes for just a moment
We could slow it down and breathe, take the time to take the time
A sunset sail in Fiji, a simple piece of bliss
And seal it with a kiss, to end the day.
If I could play my dream, on the silver screen
Baby you’d be the brightest star they’d ever seen
If we could have one scene alone for just one day
We could make the world go away
Make the world go away
Make the world go away
We could, make the world go away.
12. Mountain Railway with Hoyt Axton
This was recorded by engineer, Todd Popple, in Sacramento while Hoyt Axton was in town for an event for the Sacramento Railroad Museum. We were doing a video production and I was with Hoyt as his groomer. The producer, Gary Tomsic, suggested I work with Hoyt on this track. Of course he nailed his track in one take. So I had to work out my harmonies alone and marry them to his later.
